  • SCHOOL BOARD VACANCY

     

     

    MONTROSE AREA SCHOOL DISTRICT

    Montrose, Pennsylvania

     

    Any citizen of this Commonwealth, having a good moral character, being eighteen (18) years of age or upwards, and having been a resident of the district for at least one (1) year prior to the date of his/her election or appointment and a resident of  Region 1, which includes Montrose Borough and Jessup Township, are eligible to apply for this seat. 

     

    The appointee will serve the unexpired portion of the vacant seat until the school board election in November 2029.  The unexpired term is until December 2029.

     

    Letters of application, which will be received at the District Administration Office until Friday, November 6, 2026, should be addressed as follows:

    Letters of application should include name, address, telephone number (day and evening) and resume.  Interviews will be held on Monday, November 9, 2026 at 7:00 PM in the Choconut Valley Elementary School LGI Room.  The board will appoint one candidate for the vacancy at the November 9, 2026 Board Meeting.

     

    Applicants should be available for one (1) work session and one (1) regular meeting per month, as well as occasional special committee meetings that may be held.

  • A vacancy exists in the following position effective immediately:

    LUNCHROOM / PLAYGROUND AIDE

    Current Assignment – Choconut Valley Elementary School

    maximum of 4 ¾ hours per day, 180 student school days, $15.50 per hour

    Responsibilities include supervision of students during lunch and recess

     

    Note:  All support staff positions may be reassigned in accordance with the needs of the school district and additional duties may be assigned as needed.

  • Vacancies exists in the following position for Support Staff currently employed by the district:

    SWIM TEAM VAN DRIVERS

    2026-2027 Winter Sports Season

    approximately November 20th through February 26th

    at the rate of $50.00 per day on a rotating basis

     

    **Responsibilities include transporting Montrose students to Elk Lake School at 3:00 PM and return to Montrose at 5:00 PM, not to exceed 2 ½ hours per day**

    DAILY SUPPORT STAFF SUBSTITUTES

    Includes custodians, instructional aides, personal care aides,

    lunchroom/playground aides and secretaries

    Substitute Pay Rate is $12.00 per hour
