staff recognize suicide awareness week

This past week (September 10-16), the high school SADD Club promoted Suicide Prevention Awareness Week.  This is a national campaign to highlight the warning signs of suicide and promote intervention strategies and support available to students and adults struggling with a mental health crisis.  On Friday, September 15 students, faculty, and staff were asked to wear teal or purple - the colors of the campaign.

The Montrose Lions Club Montrose Area School District Fund, administered by The Community Foundation of the Endless Mountains, a division of Commonwealth Charitable Management, announces the grant for the 2023-2024 academic year is now available.  This permanent endowment will assist the Montrose Lions Club in supporting various athletic, departmental, or extra-curricular activities in the Montrose Area School District.  A total of $1,100 is available for accepted projects.  Grant applications are available at www.community-foundation.org and can be completed between September 15th and October 15th.  Funding decisions will be announced in late October.  Questions about the grant can be directed to Lions Club members Chris Caterson at chris@littleandnelson.com or Dan Regan at dregan5@stny.rr.com.

New York City Bus Trip flyer 2023

Enjoy New York City during the Christmas season!  The Class of 2025 is once again sponsoring a 1-day trip to New York City on Saturday, December 9, 2023. P-EBT Card

Due to the COVID-19 health emergency, children who are eligible for free or reduced-priced meals at school will receive extra food benefits to cover the period of the summer of 2023. These food benefits are called Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer or P-EBT benefits.  Because our district participates in the National School Lunch CEP program, ALL students are eligible for these benefits.  Please see the attached documents for more information.

The Montrose Area School District is offering a volunteer service program for senior citizens who are 60+ years old and pay school taxes in our district. Property tax rebates will be made at the rate of $7.25 per volunteered hour. The maximum rebate allowed per household may not exceed the total amount of real property taxes that are owed. Rebates are issued in July for services rendered during the prior school year. Please consider joining this rewarding program!
