The English as a Second Language (ESL) program provides a rich learning environment that is student centered, developmentally appropriate and content area integrated. It
includes the following:
Facilitates the student's achievement of English proficiency through the communication skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing.
Effective and meaningful participation in regular education and progress toward achievement of academic standards.
Acculturation process in a complex society that is multicultural by exposing students to customs, traditions and expectations of their new environment.
