This course will consist of work based on the Elements of Art: line, shape, value, texture and color and on the Principles of Design: repetition, contrast, unity, movement, rhythm and balance. A wide variety of materials will be used including both two and three dimensional mediums. This course also explores art history, aesthetics and criticism. Upon completion of this course, the student will have a general knowledge of art and be prepared to pursue advanced level art courses in the curriculum. |
